System Engineer ( UNIX, MIDDLEWARE)

Responsibilities:


JOB POSITION: AIX System Engineer


Job Description: To support and administer AIX servers in the environment. Includes setting up new servers for projects.


Key responsibilities:


Scripting for monitoring/ automating the Sys admin activity for change scheduled as projects on multiple servers
Routine Performance Analysis, Capacity analysis, security audit analysis reports to customer for necessary planned changes
Analysis of availability, configuration management for reporting to customer
Disaster Recovery planning
Responsible for Standard Operating procedures issuance to incident management team.
Overall technical ownership for and including: Incident, Security, Change and Problem Management
Ownership of the account related technical documentation
Communicate to operations staff/customer any planned or unplanned disruption of business.
Focus on Quality of Service with problem trend analysis, deep level root cause analysis and tracking of actions to eliminate recurring incidences with preventive actions.
Prepare and review system performance and availability reports on servers, monitoring key process indicators such as uptime, event triggers, daily backup success rate, taking action when there is deviation from acceptable targets
Plan and execute proactive maintenance on servers through effective capacity planning and change management. Be able to perform effective impact analysis and promote change communication using change management tool.
Server Patching Deployment
Involve in Technical Escalation Management
Project planning and implementation


Primary Skills required:
1. Excellent AIX System Administration skillsets
2. Have performed installation and setup of OS and middleware.
3. Preferably skilled in middleware and software such as MQSeries, Websphere, HIDS, SSH, Netbackup, TSM, Patrol, ITM.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills and be able to connect with customers easily
5. Good technical writing skills

Required skill(s): UNIX, MIDDLEWARE.
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
