Core Professional Skills

Accounting and Finance:
Experience in an auditing position complements the strong foundation of accounting knowledge acquired via my university studies. Handed responsibility as a vacation trainee to review the functions of a payroll and accounts department, I undertook a comprehensive analysis of all current policies and practices. Recommendations I made in the areas of process and risk management were adopted and these resulted in a clean bill of health when the department was subsequently visited by external auditors.

Analytical and Problem-Solving:
During my placement with PT Indah Lestari, I worked with a site manager on a project to reduce waste from the manufacturing process. I identified four major areas of waste, researched possible changes to ingredients, technical support and to the baking process and presented three separate options to the manager, along with a written report. One of these was implemented, resulting in a 15% cost reduction.

Interpersonal and Client Service:
For one function in Head Office this year, at which I worked as a sous chef, I synchronized desserts for 350 guests. Firstly I met with the three kitchen apprentices to discuss responsibilities. Once food service began, I ensured that all meals were presented calmly, on time and to a consistently high quality. Afterwards the Executive Chef came over and praised our team’s work – he has requested that my recruitment agency employ me for subsequent functions.

Leadership:
I successfully solicited sponsorship from three businesses (Rp. 1 million each) as one of the co-ordinators of my local aquatic centre. With only days remaining before the community swim, it became apparent that participants hadn’t obtained sponsorship pledges to meet our charity donation targets. I therefore took the initiative to approach local business-owners, secured their support, invited them to the event and ensured they were given the opportunity to promote their businesses on the day.

Computing:
Confident user of a wide range of business software including: MYOB and ACCPAC; Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator; MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
